Who We Are
Scott Powers
has an associate's degree in graphic design; however, upon moving to his wife's hometown of Alliance, OH in 1994 his father in-law offered him a job in the families oil business. It seemed worth a shot as Scott loved people and didn't want to sit behind a desk 9-5. And as it turned out, he was right. Some things have changed and evolved in this third generation oil business through the years except for it's key values... that is, community, customer service and hard work.
As President of the growing Powers Oil Company, Scott brings over 13 years experience in fuel distribution as well as his integrity, passion for people, and contagious charisma that brings a smile to anyways face. He demonstrates that you can't keep a good man down despite his circumstances when God is on his side.
In the fall of 2007, Scott was just beginning to settle into a tree stand 18' off the ground when it suddenly collapsed leaving him with a T12 fracture and 50% spinal cord injury. If that wasn't bad enough, his body quickly began filling with extensive blood clots in both his legs and lungs. Despite spending nearly 5 weeks hospitalized and now several months in rehabilitating, both new and existing customers continue to be the first priority in the Powers Oil Company. Doctors are astounded at his recovery and quite frankly surprised that he's able to walk at all.
Scott knows the secret to his success isn't because of who he is; but, rather who he serves, Jesus Christ.
